We got to sleep in today! Loaded the bus at 8:45 for a trip to the Museum of the North at the Alaska University. It was a great exhibit of early life in Alaska, animals, art, etc. We spent 1 ½ hours looking around. So much to see! Back on the bus and we headed out of Fairbanks, heading for the Alaska Highway.
Our first stop was in North Pole, AK – I pu
t in a good word with Santa for most of you! We continued south and stopped for lunch at Rika’s Roadhouse near Delta Junction, AK. The roadhouse was built in 1909 along the Tanana River at a ferry stop. It is now a State Historical Park. The only suspension bridge for the Alaska pipeline is close by. Of course, we had to go check it out!

Tok only has 1,700 residents. We stayed at Young’s Motel and had supper at Fast Eddy’s. We ate with friends and ordered deep fried mushro
oms. The platter arrived and we were amazed at how many mushrooms were on it! WOW! The three of them ate as many as they wanted and then I walked around the restaurant and shared the leftovers with 15 others in our tour group!!! What a mess of mushrooms we had!
Back to the room to work on the blog again.
