We are in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica today. This country is much cleaner and friendlier than Nicaragua. We took a tour that started with a jungle cruise on the Tarcoles River! Whew! What an exciting day! The flowers were beautiful!

We saw lots of different kinds of birds along the way.

And too many crocodiles to count! All sizes but mainly huge! They would be sunning themselves on the bank until our boat approached too close and then they would slide into the water and head toward our boat before disappearing under the dirty water!

We headed down the river to where the Mangrove trees were at the mouth of the river.

We saw an iguana sunning on a branch and lots of crabs on the mangrove roots.

We boarded the bus again and headed to the Pacific Rain Forest Aerial Tram. It is located in an ecological park. We had a walking tour of the plants, flowers and trees and then boarded the Tram. Wow! We saw a Yellow Billed Toucan (but were unable to get a photo of it) along with many tree tops and waterfalls. On the way down we saw monkeys! Sorry, again, no photos as they moved too quickly in the dark trees – and we were too far away to find them in the camera! But it was great for us to see them! In the park is also a Zip line where many were “zipping” over our heads.

Here is a person on the zip line.....not me!
This is a spiney tree....notice the sharp spines on all the branches!
Termite nest in a tree...there were lots of these!
Watch where you step ....Ant Crossing!

Just as we finished the tram ride it started to rain in the Rain Forest (if you can believe that!) We ate lunch there and headed back to the ship in the rain.

We had a beautiful sunset from the back of the ship.
